Job Description

To lead the development and expansion of General Insurance business through strategic partnerships with associate companies, internal departments, and Business Banking channels. The role also supports the Head of Section in driving operational excellence, innovation, and sustainable growth.

  • Leadership
    • Strategic direction: Ensure alignment with organizational goals and business priorities.
    • Lead, mentor, and develop team members: Fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and accountability.
    • Drive decision-making and problem-solving: Achieve business objectives and overcome challenges effectively.
    • Champion change management initiatives: Ensuring smooth transitions and stakeholder buy-in.
    • Set clear performance goals: Monitor progress, providing feedback and coaching for continuous improvement.
  • Relationship Management
    • Business Development: Identify and cultivate new business opportunities across direct clients, OCBC bankers, and other customer touchpoints.
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to foster trust and collaboration.
    • Portfolio Optimization: Manage and grow the direct portfolio with a focus on long-term profitability, customer retention, and strategic alignment.
  • Marketing Strategy & Execution
    • Campaign Planning: Lead the design and execution of integrated marketing campaigns that align with business objectives and customer needs.
    • Product Sequencing: Strategically launch acquisition (cross-sell) and customer management (up-sell) campaigns based on product lifecycle and customer segmentation.
    • Tender Management: Drive business growth through tendering opportunities via platforms like Gebiz, ensuring competitive positioning and compliance.
    • Involve in special projects and any duties as assigned
  • Campaign & Channel Management
    • Execution Excellence: Ensure timely and effective rollout of campaigns by coordinating with internal teams (e.g., compliance, legal, IT) and external partners.
    • Performance Monitoring: Track campaign KPIs, analyze results, and refine strategies to improve acquisition, retention, and conversion rates.
    • Budget Control: Manage campaign budgets responsibly, ensuring optimal ROI and cost efficiency.
  • Underwriting
    • Portfolio Profitability: Maintain a healthy loss ratio by applying sound underwriting principles and risk assessment.
    • Quotation & Pricing: Provide competitive quotations within authorized limits, balancing risk and business potential.
    • Reinsurance Strategy: Source and arrange facultative reinsurance support when necessary to manage exposure.
    • Team Development: Mentor junior underwriters, providing guidance on new and renewal business, and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
    • Involve in special projects and any duties as assigned
  • Process Innovation & Digitalization
    • System Enhancement: Support backend team on end-to-end digitalization of policy fulfillment, campaign management, and customer engagement processes.
    • Operational Efficiency: Identify process gaps and lead initiatives to streamline workflows, reduce turnaround times, and enhance customer experience.
    • Minimum Degree holder preferable with professional insurance qualification
    • 5 to 8 years of relevant working experience
    • Possess BCP, PGI, CGI and HI
    • Proficient in MS Office and Powerpoint
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills
    • A good team player with the ability to multitask and work independently
