Aviation Tools and Equipment Maintenance Officer

The Tools and Equipment Maintenance Officer is responsible for the upkeep, calibration, repair, and regulatory compliance of all aircraft tools and equipment. This role ensures tools are maintained in optimal condition, comply with statutory requirements, and support operational and financial efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Tools and Equipment Maintenance Coordination

Serve as the primary point of contact for all matters related to the maintenance and upkeep of aircraft tools and equipment.

2. Calibration Management

Ensure all calibration items remain valid by coordinating timely dispatch to the calibration section.

Monitor turnaround times, track progress, and reinstate calibrated tools back into the system promptly.

3. Repair and Replacement Management

Track all unserviceable tools and equipment from the time of status change.

Initiate electronic defect investigation reports, follow up on repairs, and ensure items are reinstated to a serviceable condition.

4. Ministry of Manpower (MOM) Compliance

Ensure timely load testing and visual inspections are conducted for all tools and equipment requiring MOM compliance.

5. Risk Evaluation and Mitigation

Operational/Quality Risk:

o Send daily progress reports to update tool and equipment status.

o Engage with the immediate supervisor regarding suppliers with extended lead times, and escalate to the manager when necessary.

Financial Risk:

o Prepare monthly reports recommending whether to repair, replace, or scrap tools based on cost-effectiveness.

o Review underutilized tools that are regularly maintained to ensure efficient resource use.

Requirements:

Minimum Diploma holder; preference given to candidates with a background in Logistics Management.

Strong data management and analytical skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.

Possession of a Class 3 driving license; candidates with forklift operation experience will be preferred.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
