Job Responsibilities
- Monitor autonomous vehicle systems during operation and report irregularities or malfunctions.
- Maintain high levels of alertness and attention throughout each test drive to ensure safety and accurate monitoring
- Monitor vehicle behaviors, system alerts, and surrounding environment
- Take manual control of the vehicle when necessary to ensure safety
- Conduct pre-drive and post-drive vehicle checks
- Communicate with field teams and support staff to resolve operational issues
- Document test results, performance data, and report anomalies to the technical team
- Act as a first responder in case of vehicle malfunction
- Perform any ad hoc duties assigned
Job Requirements (add rows where required)
- A valid Class 3 Driving License
- Minimum of 3 years of active driving experience with a clean driving record.
- Training or experience in defensive driving techniques, including hazard anticipation and accident prevention, is advantageous
- Basic understanding of vehicle systems or autonomous technology is a plus
- Ability to remain focused for extended periods of time
- Good communication and reporting skills
- Willingness to undergo a driving skills assessment to evaluate readiness for manual intervention during autonomous vehicle operations
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including shift work, weekends and public holidays
