Role Overview
The IT Automic Automation Specialist will join the IT Service Management function and play a key role in delivering enterprise job scheduling and workflow automation using Automic Automation. This role focuses on translating business and technical requirements into reliable, standards-compliant automated workflows within a regulated IT operations environment.
The specialist will work closely with various IT teams, acting as a subject-matter expert in automation, ensuring jobs are designed, implemented, and maintained in line with organisational policies and operational best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and enhance complex workflows using Automic Automation Engine (UC4).
Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to gather requirements and convert them into automated scheduling solutions.
Handle service requests related to job scheduling, automation, and workflow enhancements.
Provide expert guidance and advisory support to IT service owners on automation design and optimisation.
Ensure all automation activities align with internal standards, KPIs, and operational metrics.
Support and operate within established IT operations processes, including incident, change, and release management.
Contribute to planning, coordination, and implementation activities related to automation initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience
7-10+ years of hands-on experience working with Automic Automation or comparable enterprise job scheduling platforms.
Strong expertise in developing and maintaining advanced, multi-step workflows.
Solid technical background in Unix environments, with experience in Shell scripting and exposure to Java.
Good understanding of IT operations, including production support and governance processes.
Proven experience in technical requirement analysis, solution planning, and cross-team coordination.
Working knowledge of Change Management, Release Management, and Incident Management frameworks.

Strong organisational and communication skills, with attention to detail.
Comfortable engaging with multiple stakeholders across different IT functions within a financial institution.
