Automation / Project Engineer

Description

An established flavour and food ingredients company is seeking an Automation / Project Engineer to strengthen its Engineering team. Based in Singapore, this role supports plant automation, engineering projects, equipment upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Operations Director, you will maintain and troubleshoot plant automation systems, instrumentation and industrial communication networks. You will review P&IDs, engineering drawings and technical specifications, while supporting equipment reliability and root cause investigations. You will also have the chance to support engineering projects from planning through installation, commissioning and handover, including CAPEX initiatives, equipment upgrades and process improvements. You will be working closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, R&D and EHS teams, coordinate with vendors, system integrators and contractors to ensure projects meet safety, quality, budget and timeline requirements. You will also identify opportunities to improve automation reliability, manufacturing efficiency and plant performance.

Requirements

You will have a Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Automation, Instrumentation or a related engineering discipline, with at least 3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing setup. Experience with PLC systems, SCADA, SAP DM and industrial networks will be advantageous. Candidates with experience supporting CAPEX projects, equipment installation, commissioning or plant improvement projects are encouraged to apply. Exposure to food & beverage, pharmaceutical or FMCG manufacturing, together with knowledge of GMP and HACCP will be advantageous.
