Job Summary
As an Automation Equipment Technician, you will sustain and improve advanced automation equipment in manufacturing by troubleshooting, performing preventive maintenance, and collaborating with operations and engineering teams to enhance equipment reliability and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Repair and maintain automation equipment including AMHS, ASRS, and AGV to ensure operational efficiency
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues in electro-mechanical equipment through systematic troubleshooting
- Dismantle, adjust, repair, and assemble equipment using layout plans, blueprints, and technical manuals to meet specifications
- Perform preventive maintenance and calibration to maintain equipment performance within required standards
- Implement equipment modifications as directed by engineering teams to improve functionality
- Monitor tool performance and ensure compliance with shift KPIs related to uptime and quality
- Prepare detailed shift reports and conduct clear passdowns to support team communication
- Lead and participate in Continuous Improvement Projects (CIP) to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency
- Analyze equipment data to recommend advanced troubleshooting and predictive maintenance strategies
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following proper housekeeping practices
- Collaborate with operations and engineering stakeholders to promptly resolve production line issues
- Support automation integration projects and assist in deploying new technologies to improve processes
- Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurring equipment issues
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) protocols during maintenance activities
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, Mechatronics, or related automation disciplines
- Hands-on approach with a safety-first mindset
- Proficiency in basic PC and software tools for equipment monitoring and reporting
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals accurately
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively across functions
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, shift-based environment
