Job Description

As an Automation Equipment Technician, you will play a critical role in sustaining and improving advanced automation equipment within the manufacturing environment. This position requires strong technical skills in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and equipment optimization, while collaborating closely with Shift Operations, Equipment Engineers, and tool vendors. You will ensure equipment reliability, drive continuous improvement, and support automation initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintain automation equipment such as AMHS (Automated Material Handling System), ASRS (Automated Storage and Retrieval System), and AGV (Automated Guided Vehicles).

  • Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve issues in electro-mechanical equipment.

  • Dismantle, adjust, repair, and assemble equipment based on layout plans, blueprints, and technical manuals.

  • Execute preventive maintenance (PM) and calibration activities to maintain equipment within specifications.

  • Implement equipment modifications as directed by engineering teams.

  • Monitor tool performance and ensure compliance with shift KPIs for uptime and quality.

  • Prepare detailed shift reports and conduct effective passdowns.

  • Execute continuous Improvement Projects (CIP) to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.

  • Analyze equipment data to recommend advanced troubleshooting and predictive maintenance actions.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment through proper housekeeping practices.

  • Collaborate with operations and engineering stakeholders to resolve production line issues promptly.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support automation integration projects and assist in deploying new technologies.

  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for recurring issues.

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and EHS protocols during all maintenance activities.

Preferred Qualification

  • Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, Mechatronics, or related automation disciplines.

  • Handson and safety-first mindset.

  • Proficiency in basic PC/software tools for equipment monitoring and reporting.

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate across functions.

  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, shift-based environment.

  • Able to work on 12 hours rotating shift, including night shift.

    Performs electrical or mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning electro-mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing process. Dismantles, adjusts, repairs and assembles equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches or drawings. Uses test and diagnostic equipment to perform checkouts. Rebuilds manufacturing equipment as required. May perform equipment modifications as directed by engineers.
