Job Summary
The Automation Engineer will enhance daily operations and reporting by supporting automation and IT activities, managing SAP systems, handling data, and coordinating improvement projects to ensure efficient execution.
Responsibilities
- Prepare regular MIS reports to analyze plant performance and operational data
- Track efficiency, productivity, and key business metrics to support data-driven decisions
- Improve reporting formats and data accuracy to enhance information reliability
- Operate and manage SAP systems for daily operations and data processing
- Support process improvements in procurement, finance, and plant operations using SAP
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to implement system updates and enhancements
- Automate routine business processes, including plant efficiency reporting and machine downtime analysis, to reduce manual effort and errors
- Monitor and maintain automation systems to ensure continuous operation
- Support implementation of asset care and productivity improvement programs to optimize plant performance
- Identify operational improvement opportunities through data analysis and process review
- Assist in daily plant IT activities to maintain smooth operations
- Coordinate on-site IT and process improvement activities to ensure timely project execution
- Collaborate with internal teams to drive ongoing improvement initiatives and support management objectives
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Information Technology
- 1-3 years of experience in automation, AI solutions, or SAP systems within a manufacturing environment
- Experience in data handling and reporting
- Proficiency in Python programming (preferred)
- Familiarity with AI tools such as LLMs, RAG, and OCR
- Knowledge of SAP Business One and S/4HANA systems
- Experience with REST APIs and system integration
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
