Automation Engineer

Position Summary

We are looking for a motivated and detail-orientedTest Automation Engineer to join our Quality Engineering team. In this role, you will assist in creating, maintaining, and executing automated test scripts for web, API, and mobile applications under the guidance of senior automation leads. This is a great opportunity to expand your technical testing skills and gain hands-on experience with modern automation frameworks and CI/CD tools.

Key Responsibilities

Script Writing & Maintenance: Write, review, and maintain automated test scripts using established framework standards and guidelines.

Test Execution & Reporting: Run automated test suites (sanity, regression, smoke) for daily builds and document test results with clear step-by-step failure logs.

Defect Identification & Tracking: Identify, log, and track software defects in management tools (e.g., Jira) and collaborate with developers for quick bug resolution.

Test Case Translation: Review user stories and functional requirements to convert manual test cases into executable automated tests.

API & UI Testing: Conduct basic API testing using tools like Postman and assist in UI test automation.

Collaboration: Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and team reviews to understand new product features and requirements.

Key Qualifications & Skills

Technical Skills:

Programming Basics: Good understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOPs) concepts in JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Python.

Automation Tools: Basic hands-on experience or coursework with test automation tools/libraries such as Playwright, Selenium Webdriver, or Cypress.

API Testing: Familiarity with API testing tools like Postman or cURL.

Version Control: Basic working knowledge of Git (commit, pull, push, branch management).

Databases: Basic understanding of SQL to write queries for data verification.

Test Management: Exposure to tools like Jira, TestRail, or Confluence.

Soft Skills:

Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving mindset.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Quick learner with a strong desire to adopt new QA automation tools and techniques.
