Job Overview

Our company is representing a confidential client seeking a skilled and detail-oriented AutoCAD Draftsman to support the preparation of technical drawings, engineering designs, and project documentation for electrical and mechanical systems.

The ideal candidate will have strong AutoCAD proficiency, a solid understanding of electrical or mechanical engineering principles, and the ability to produce accurate technical drawings that meet project specifications and industry standards.

This role involves working closely with operations teams, engineers, and clients to ensure drawings are accurate, compliant, and aligned with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and develop detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD for electrical and mechanical engineering projects.
• Create single-line diagrams, design drawings, working drawings, and other technical documentation.
• Interpret engineering specifications, technical requirements, and design information to produce accurate drawings.
• Prepare and submit drawings in accordance with contract specifications and project requirements.
• Ensure drawings comply with applicable engineering standards, including relevant Explosion-Proof (Ex) safety standards.
• Coordinate with operations teams, engineers, and clients to ensure project execution aligns with approved drawings.
• Review, revise, and update drawings based on project changes, technical feedback, and site requirements.
• Maintain accurate project records, drawing revisions, and documentation.
• Communicate with project stakeholders to clarify technical details and resolve drawing-related issues.
• Independently organise and complete assigned drafting tasks within project deadlines.

Job Requirements

Education & Technical Experience

• Diploma or equivalent technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or a related discipline preferred.
• Proven working experience using AutoCAD for technical and engineering drawings.
• Good understanding of electrical and/or mechanical systems.
• Ability to prepare and interpret single-line diagrams and detailed engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with engineering design specifications, technical documentation, and drawing standards.
• Knowledge of Explosion-Proof (Ex) standards would be a strong advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience supporting engineering, industrial, marine, or offshore projects would be advantageous.

Communication & Soft Skills

• Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with clients, engineers, and operations teams.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in technical documentation.
• Independent, organised, and capable of managing multiple drafting assignments.
• Able to interpret technical requirements and translate them into clear, accurate drawings.
• Proactive in identifying drawing discrepancies and recommending improvements.
• Comfortable working with project deadlines and changing technical requirements.

Location & Availability

• Preferably based in Singapore, Batam (Indonesia), or Johor (Malaysia).
• Willing to travel to Singapore for project requirements or site coordination when necessary.
• Able to start immediately or within a short notice period.
• Must meet applicable travel and work authorisation requirements.

Ideal Candidate

• We're looking for a technically capable and detail-oriented AutoCAD Draftsman who can work independently, produce accurate engineering drawings, and communicate effectively with project stakeholders.
• The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical or mechanical systems, excellent drafting skills, and the ability to ensure drawings meet project specifications and safety standards.
• Candidates with experience preparing single-line diagrams and working with Explosion-Proof (Ex) standards will have a distinct advantage.
