This individual is responsible for maintaining Opto-Pharm accounting records, ensuring timely and accurate updates to information, contributing to meeting statutory reporting requirements, and supporting the operations team as and when needed. The individual helps monitor expenditures and highlight any concerns.
Responsible for maintaining accounting systems and records to meet reporting deadlines.
Ensures timely updates and accuracy of financial information.
A. Reporting Relationship Reports directly to the Director of Finance.
B. Department Overview
Reviews work performed by Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions.
Supervises the finance team.
Discusses cash flow, outstanding collections, and accounting matters with the Director of Finance.
C. Areas of Responsibility
Oversee debt collection status and ensure accuracy of General Ledger accounts.
Supervise AR and AP functions, maintain master data, and ensure proper document upkeep.
Manage Letters of Credit (LC) and banker's guarantee matters.
Perform quarterly GST submissions, update accounting schedules, maintain fixed asset register, review AP records, and prepare monthly/yearly journals.
Ensure systematic filing and maintenance of accounting transaction records.
Lead annual stock take and liaise with external auditors for annual financial audits.
D. Challenges of Position
Requires strong communication skills, flexibility, and confidentiality in handling financial information.
Must demonstrate effective time management, accountability, and systematic organisation.
Timely follow-up with relevant personnel on outstanding issues is critical.
E. Communication Network
Liaises closely with planning, logistics, QC, and sales departments.
Provides regular feedback and discussion with the Director of Finance on financial and operational issues.
F. Measurement of Performance
Monthly closing is completed within 8 working days of the month-end.
Accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
Effective supervision and guidance with minimal transaction errors.
Timely audit closure through close coordination with external auditors.
Minimum Diploma in Accounting/Finance or equivalent.
At least 5 years of relevant experience.
Strong interpersonal skills, meticulous attention to detail, patience, and commitment to responsibilities.
