ABOUT THE ROLE
The Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC) is seeking an experienced communications leader to head the Corporate Communications department. As Assistant Director or Senior Assistant Director, you will set the strategic direction for SDSC's brand and communications, design and implement integrated campaigns, lead a team, and cultivate high-value donor and partner relationships. This is a pivotal leadership role as SDSC scales its impact ahead of the ASEAN Para Games 2029.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Departmental Leadership & Team Management
. Lead, manage, and develop the Corporate Communications team (covering fundraising, media relations, and digital/brand) accountable for team performance, workplans, and department budget.
. Set departmental goals and operating plans aligned to SDSC's organisational strategy report on outcomes to the Executive Director and governance committees.
. Mentor and coach team members build a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
B. Brand Strategy & Integrated Campaign Management
. Design and implement integrated communications and brand campaigns that strengthen SDSC's public profile and deepen awareness of disability sports across corporate, government, donor, and public audiences.
. Oversee all brand assets, messaging frameworks, and visual identity guidelines ensure consistent application across all channels and materials.
. Provide strategic oversight of major communications projects including the Singapore Disability Sports Awards.
. Evaluate campaign effectiveness using data and audience insights make evidence-based recommendations to improve reach and impact.
C. High-Value Donor & Stakeholder Cultivation
. Lead the cultivation, stewardship, and growth of high-value corporate and individual donor relationships develop strategies to secure multi-year commitments and major gifts.
. Oversee fundraising campaigns and grant applications work with the Fundraising Committee and Board to develop proposals and deliver impact reports.
. Represent SDSC at government, media, and partner engagements, projecting a credible and compelling organisational voice.
D. Media, Communications & Crisis Management
. Oversee and guide the team's media relations strategy and media statements, manage senior media relationships, and handle escalated press and reputational issues.
. Lead crisis communications planning and response ensure coordinated communications during sensitive incidents.
. Provide editorial direction for publications, annual reports, speechwriting, and digital content to maintain quality and coherence across all outputs.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications & Experience
. Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, Public Relations, or a related discipline.
. Assistant Director: Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience with leadership or supervisory track record.
. Senior Assistant Director: Minimum 7-10 years of relevant experience with leadership or supervisory track record.
. Experience in the non-profit, social, or sports sector is an advantage.
. Ability to work hands-on and collaborate closely within a small team.
