PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
BBC Studios is seeking an Associate Manager, Insights & Research for the Advertising Sales team of the Global Media & Streaming division. This role will be directly contributing to the revenue goals of the business by translating insights into strategies, building strong relationships with key clients, and enhancing the value of our advertising offering. You will be the go-to person for Insights in the region, shaping the direction and uncovering the why behind the numbers, ensuring the growth and profitability of our advertising business. This role supports the Ad Sales team across APAC, with a focus on South Asia (Singapore, SEA, India), North Asia (Hong Kong, Korea, China), Japan and ANZ.
The role will report to the Senior Manager, Integrated Solutions based in Singapore.

Your Key Responsibilities And Impact
- Commercial & Ad Sales partnership:
- Provide data-driven recommendations to overall Ad Sales strategy using audience, market and campaign performance data
- Shape data findings into propositions and recommendations for pitch materials and post-campaign reports to support client acquisition and retention
- Lead, design and execute bespoke research end to end (e.g. advertising effectiveness studies, sector specific research or thought leadership pieces) that directly support commercial outcomes
- Present insights narratives confidently to external clients when required, strengthening advertiser confidence
- Stakeholder enablement: You will advance data and research capability across internal stakeholders like Integrated Marketing, Ad Sales, BBC StoryWorks by delivering training and developing self-serve resources on data and metrics. You will also supervise external research agencies and vendors for ad hoc projects to deliver timely and successful outcome under allocated budget
- Global collaboration and APAC representation: You work closely with insight counterparts on global projects, contributing local market perspectives to those conversations. You will shape APAC's insights agenda and influence global counterparts towards mutually beneficial outcomes
- Financial Management: You oversee financial administration relating to research and insights activities, including budget tracking, purchase order creation, and cost management to ensure efficient use of resources
Your Skills And Experience
- Experience & Competencies
- Proven experience: Minimum 4-5 years of relevant data, research, insights background
- Analytical Confidence & data storytelling: You have a high degree of comfort with numbers and campaign measurement. You are skilled in synthesising complex insights and fusing disparate datapoints together to present and communicate an insightful strategic proposition and story to internal stakeholders and clients differing knowledge levels
- Hands-on data skills: You don't just read data, you know how to get it. Experience running qualitative and quantitative research (craft survey questions, identify appropriate narratives from syndicated or bespoke survey data sources) is essential
- Fluency in research methodologies: Other than having a good understanding of traditional market research techniques, SPSS/Q, panel methodologies, Reach & Frequency, cross media attribution, you also know how and when to apply them effectively to achieve goals
- Experienced with data tools: You have practical experience with analytic tools (e.g. Tableau, Piano Analytics, advanced proficiency with Excel) and syndicated research platforms (e.g. Telmar, GWI, Nielsen, ComScore, Statista)
- Interest in applying AI enabled tools within research and insights: Familiarity with using AI to support workflow efficiency, data analysis, research synthesis, insight generation is an advantage

- Business mindset: A solid understanding and appreciation of the media landscape. You are keen in developing insights strategies and narratives that drive commercial outcomes in an advertising environment
- Organised with attention to details: You are structured, methodical and disciplined in managing multiple workstreams and datasets simultaneously, ensuring a consistent standard in your outputs
- Strong relationship builder: You can manage relationships with ease across functions, regions and seniority. You are confident in engaging with diverse personalities, using clarity and persuasion to influence outcomes
- Independent & Investigative: Curious by nature, you proactively seek out information and connect the dots to uncover opportunities. You are also highly self-motivated and comfortable operating in an ownership role
