Job Description

As a WSH Consultant, you will partner with our clients to build, implement and maintain robust workplace safety and health systems that comply with Singapore's WSH Act and regulatory standards. Your key responsibilities will include:

1. Risk Assessment & Gap Analysis

  • Conduct site audits and hazard identification across client worksites
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative risk assessments
  • Benchmark existing processes against WSH Act, bizSAFE and ISO 45001 requirements

2. Policy & Procedure Development

  • Draft and refine WSH policies, emergency response plans, SOPs and MSDS
  • Advise on engineering, administrative and PPE controls for identified hazards
  • Develop reporting templates (incident reports, safety KPIs, audit checklists)

3. Training & Competency Building

  • Design and deliver WSH training modules (e.g., permit-to-work, confined space, fire safety)
  • Coach client personnel to become certified WSH Officers (WSHO)
  • Evaluate training effectiveness via post-course assessments and toolbox talks

4. Certification & Compliance Support

  • Guide clients through bizSAFE evaluators audit process and MOM submissions
  • Lead internal audits and management reviews to maintain ISO 45001 accreditation
  • Liaise with external auditors, regulators (e.g., MOM, NEA) and ensure timely corrective actions

5. Incident Investigation & Reporting

  • Lead root-cause analyses (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone) for workplace incidents
  • Prepare investigation reports with clear recommendations and remediation plans
  • Track action items to closure and report status to senior management

6. Continuous Improvement & Advisory

  • Monitor WSH performance metrics propose initiatives to drive safety culture
  • Keep abreast of legislative updates, industry best practices and new technologies
  • Provide ad hoc expert advice on specialized topics (e.g., ergonomics, chemical safety)

Requirements & Qualifications

1. Education & Certification

  • Certified WSH Officer (WSHO) under Singapore's WSH (Risk Management) Regulations
  • Preferred: NEBOSH International General Certificate, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor / Implementer, bizSAFE 3-STAR or higher

2. Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a WSH consulting or in-house safety role
  • Proven track record guiding SMEs through bizSAFE certification and ISO 45001 audits
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, managing incident investigations and delivering training

3. Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of Singapore WSH Act, subsidiary regulations and relevant industry codes (e.g., SS 507)
  • Excellent analytical, report-writing and presentation skills
  • Ability to build rapport with stakeholders at all levels-technical, operational and C-suite
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiar with safety management software
