Associate, Social Media & Content

Science Centre Singapore

About Science Centre Singapore

Science Centre Singapore has long been a beloved institution for generations of Singaporeans, sparking curiosity, imagination and a lifelong love for discovery.

As we shape the next chapter of Science Centre Singapore, our ambition is not only to remain deeply loved at home, but to grow into a more distinctive attraction in its own right — one that strengthens Singapore's position as a place for science, innovation, creativity and discovery. We see an opportunity for Science Centre Singapore to connect more powerfully with new audiences, build greater cultural relevance, and play a bigger role in how Singapore is experienced and remembered by visitors from around the world.

This is an opportunity to help tell that story. Not just of a trusted institution with a strong legacy, but of one with the potential to become more visible, more talked about and more globally resonant in the years ahead.

About the role

We are looking for a social-first storyteller and content creator to help shape how Science Centre Singapore shows up in culture, in conversation and in people's feeds.

This is not a routine content role. It is an opportunity to help evolve a beloved Singapore institution into a more culturally relevant and globally resonant attraction through compelling storytelling, platform-native content and strong digital instincts.

We are looking for someone who genuinely lives and breathes social media and content. Someone who instinctively understands what makes people stop, watch, share and care. Someone who is naturally creative, plugged into culture, fluent across platforms, and excited by the challenge of turning exhibitions, events, partnerships, campaigns and everyday moments into content that feels timely, relevant and worth talking about.

You should be equal parts content creator, storyteller, social thinker and operator. You should be comfortable generating ideas, writing sharp copy, capturing or shaping content on the ground, and working closely with agencies and creative partners to push the work to a higher standard.

You will support the development and execution of Science Centre Singapore's social and digital content strategy across owned channels, helping us build stronger brand resonance, deeper engagement and a more distinctive presence online. Just as importantly, you will help shape how audiences in Singapore and beyond experience and connect with the future of Science Centre Singapore through content, storytelling and culture.

Job purpose

This role exists to strengthen Science Centre Singapore's digital and social presence through social-first storytelling, compelling content and culturally relevant community engagement. By translating brand, campaign and organisational priorities into platform-native content and digital experiences, the role helps keep the organisation relevant, engaging and resonant in a fast-evolving media landscape, while supporting the broader ambition to build a more distinctive, future-facing and globally visible brand.

What you will do

Social and content strategy

  • Support the development and execution of social-first content strategies across key platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn
  • Help shape content pillars, editorial themes and platform approaches aligned to brand, campaign and audience priorities
  • Translate brand, PR, campaign and event moments into platform-native ideas and content plans
  • Stay current on social trends, audience behaviour, platform changes and emerging formats, and apply these quickly and intelligently to the work
  • Contribute ideas that keep Science Centre Singapore relevant, distinctive and culturally attuned

Content creation and storytelling

  • Create, write, adapt and optimise content for different platforms, including captions, carousels, short-form videos, stories, reels and other digital formats
  • Repurpose campaign, corporate and PR materials into content that feels accessible, engaging and made for the platform
  • Support the development of creative briefs for agencies, creators, photographers and videographers
  • Ensure content is on-brand, audience-led and aligned to platform best practices
  • Translate real-time opportunities, trending moments and live requests into strong creative output under tight timelines

Editorial planning and publishing

  • Support the management of the social media and content calendar across always-on, campaign and event-based content
  • Coordinate planning and publishing to ensure consistency, timeliness and quality across channels
  • Maintain strong content hygiene across captions, tagging, metadata, asset organisation and approvals
  • Work with internal stakeholders and partners to ensure content is delivered and published accurately and on time

Live content capture and on-ground storytelling

  • Support on-site content capture during media previews, launches, exhibitions, festivals, weekend activations and special events
  • Work closely with agencies, photographers, videographers and internal teams to ensure key moments are captured effectively
  • Identify content opportunities in real time and help turn them into assets that can be used across social and digital platforms
  • Help ensure no strong storytelling opportunity is missed on the ground

Community engagement and social presence

  • Support the day-to-day management of Science Centre Singapore's organic social media presence
  • Help foster a responsive, relevant and engaging brand voice across platforms
  • Monitor audience conversations, comments, trends and competitor activity to inform content and engagement decisions
  • Work with agencies and internal teams on community management and escalation protocols where needed

Performance monitoring and optimisation

  • Monitor content and channel performance across reach, engagement, video views, traffic and audience growth
  • Help turn analytics, platform data and campaign results into actionable recommendations for improvement
  • Support reporting that combines social, content and broader marketing insights
  • Use data and observation to continuously improve content quality, timing, formats and effectiveness

Collaboration and agency partnership

  • Work closely with internal teams across marketing, communications, partnerships, events and creative functions to support integrated execution
  • Coordinate with agencies, creators and external vendors to ensure briefs are clear and output is delivered to a high standard
  • Contribute ideas confidently and help push for stronger, more social-native creative work
  • Be a proactive team player who can move between planning, execution and optimisation with agility

What we are looking for

  • Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, Digital Content or a related discipline
  • Around 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in social media, content creation, digital marketing or content strategy
  • Minimum 1 year experience with Facebook & Instagam Marketing.
  • Strong understanding of major social platforms, platform behaviours and content best practices
  • Clear instinct for what makes content engaging, shareable and culturally relevant
  • Strong writing, editing and copywriting skills with a good sense of tone, voice and audience
  • Hands-on experience in creating or shaping short-form video, static content and digital storytelling assets
  • Familiarity with content creation and editing tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, Premiere Pro or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of analytics, publishing, listening or social media management tools
  • Basic understanding of paid social and how organic and paid content can work together is a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities with good judgment and attention to detail
  • Confidence working with agencies, creators and cross-functional stakeholders
  • A proactive mindset, strong curiosity and a willingness to learn, adapt and improve quickly

You will thrive in this role if you are

  • deeply interested in social media, internet culture and how audiences behave online
  • someone who naturally spots content opportunities everywhere
  • creative by instinct but disciplined in execution
  • excited by the challenge of making a public-facing brand feel more current, engaging and culturally alive
  • comfortable being hands-on and not waiting to be told every next step
  • confident enough to work with agencies and make the work even better
  • energised by live environments, fast turnarounds and real-time storytelling moments
  • someone who cares about both ideas and outcomes

Why join us

This is an opportunity to help shape how one of Singapore's most recognised public-facing brands shows up in the digital space.

You will get to work on exhibitions, experiences, events, campaigns and stories that reach families, students, young adults, communities and future audiences in meaningful ways. You will also have the chance to help build a more modern, more social and more distinctive content presence for Science Centre Singapore at an exciting point in its journey.

For the right person, this role offers something bigger than day-to-day content creation. It is a chance to help evolve a beloved Singapore institution into a more culturally relevant and globally resonant attraction. It is a chance to help shape how Science Centre Singapore connects with audiences here at home while building greater visibility, excitement and relevance beyond Singapore.

If you believe great content can inspire imagination, build connection and help shape how a brand, institution and even a country are experienced by the world, this is a role where you can do work that genuinely matters.

Candidates with more years of experience could be considered for the position of Senior Associate.
