Job Description

The Associate / Senior Associate will be a key member of our system implementation team, primarily responsible for validating the end-to-end functional integrity of our new ERP system. This 8-month contract role focuses on executing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) across all core finance modules. You will collaborate closely with Business Process Owners (BPO) and the technical vendor to ensure that general ledger and reporting processes focusing on Grants are accurate, compliant, and fit-for-purpose before the system's launch.

Essential duties and responsibilities includes:

  • Data migration validation: Review and validate data mapping templates to ensure legacy data fields (e.g., Chart of Accounts, Vendor Masters, Grant IDs) align correctly with new ERP's structure.
  • Data migration TB Reconciliation: Perform Before and After reconciliations to ensure that migrated opening balances for GL, AR, and AP match legacy records to the cent.
  • Data migration review: Conduct sample testing on migrated Open Items (unpaid invoices, unclosed POs) to ensure no loss of transactional detail during the Cut-over phase.
  • Exception Reporting: Identify and resolve data inconsistencies or orphan records during the Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) process.
  • Test Script Testing: Execute detailed UAT functional tests covering Procurement-to-Pay (PTP), Order-to-Cash (OTC), Record-to-Report (RTR) and Expense-to-Reimburse (ETR).
  • Issue logging: Identify, document, and categorize system bugs or process gaps discovered during testing using the project's tracking tool.
  • Vendor liaison: Work directly with the ERP vendor to explain defects, re-test fixes, and ensure all Critical and High priority issues are resolved before sign-off.
  • Regression testing: Conduct follow-up testing to ensure that system fixes do not negatively impact existing functionalities.
  • Documentation: Maintain a meticulous audit trail of test results and approvals, ensuring the UAT phase meets internal controllership and external audit standards.
  • Process mapping: Update standard operating procedures (SOPs) based on the as-built system configurations discovered during testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for workflow/process improvements.
  • Month end close preparation - preparing and posting of journals
  • Performing balance sheet reconciliation and monthly reporting

Qualifications

You should:

  • Diploma or Degree in Accountancy, Finance or a related field eg. from local Polytechnic or equivalent qualification
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience with a proven track record in Data Migration, Data cleaning and ERP Implementation.
  • Meticulous and highly accurate, with advanced spreadsheet related skills..
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to analyze huge datasets and identifying errors.
