Job Description

Bazul LLC is looking for Singapore-qualified lawyers of 1 to 6 years PQE to join our growing practice across two core areas:

General Disputes & International Arbitration, and
Shipping & Maritime Disputes

We are expanding and are keen to welcome lawyers who see this not just as a job, but as an opportunity to grow alongside the firm and help shape its future. We are particularly interested in lawyers who are comfortable using AI and legal tech tools to work smarter — whether that's accelerating document review, structuring first-draft submissions, synthesising case law, or streamlining due diligence — so that more of their time goes into judgment, strategy, and client relationships rather than repetitive spadework.

These roles are ideal for lawyers who enjoy working on complex, high-value matters, think commercially, and want to build deep expertise while taking ownership of their work and contributing meaningfully to the firm's development.

What You will do

Depending on your practice focus, you will work on a mix of:

General Disputes & International Arbitration

Commercial litigation and international arbitration matters, often with a strong cross-border element
Complex legal and commercial issues, providing clear, practical, and commercially sensible advice
Drafting pleadings, submissions, and supporting advocacy — using AI-assisted tools where appropriate to speed up first drafts, research, and document review, while retaining full ownership of accuracy and legal judgment
Case strategy and client advisory work, working closely with partners and clients

Shipping & Maritime Disputes

Charterparty and COA disputes
Cargo claims and marine insurance disputes
Ship arrests, collisions, and maritime casualties
Offshore, energy, and trade-related disputes
Singapore court proceedings and international arbitrations (including LMAA, SIAC, SCMA, and ad hoc arbitrations)

Across both practice areas, you will:

Be involved early in strategy, case management, and client engagement
Work on cross-border matters and build increasing autonomy
Contribute to the development and growth of the firm and its practices
Help identify and adopt AI and legal tech tools that improve turnaround times and work quality across the team

What We're Looking For

Singapore-qualified lawyer with 1–6 years PQE (newly qualified lawyers are welcome to apply)
Experience or a strong interest in either (i) Commercial litigation / international arbitration, or (ii) Shipping and maritime disputes
Strong drafting, analytical, and advocacy skills
Comfort with, or genuine curiosity about, AI-powered legal tools (e.g. generative AI for research and drafting, e-discovery platforms, contract/document review software) — you don't need to be a technologist, but you should be someone who actively looks for smarter ways to work
Sound judgment on when and how to use AI appropriately in legal work, including an awareness of its limitations and the need for careful verification
Arbitration experience is preferred but not mandatory for the shipping role
Commercial awareness and sound judgment
A proactive, growth-oriented mindset with the ability to take ownership of matters
Interest in client relationship development and long-term client engagement
A collaborative approach and commitment to professional growth
