A.StartCentral (A.SC) is A.STAR's deep-tech venture building platform, supporting the growth of science and engineering-driven startups through infrastructure, programmes, and ecosystem partnerships. A.SC houses approximately 18,000 sqft of chemistry and life science laboratories, an engineering workshop, event, and co-working space.
We are looking for a motivated team member for centre operations, administration and corporate service liaison, and marketing to nurture a vibrant environment to facilitate innovation for impact. This role requires regular interaction with startup founders, scientists, industry mentors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Centre Operations & Administration
- Facilitate cross functional operational responsibilities that enables centre operations, including facilities management, office equipment, amenities and sundry inventory management. This includes preventive maintenance, ad-hoc repairs, recurring services, and utility contracts
- Handle administration and tracking of membership agreements, budgets, and expenditure. This entails liaison with internal stakeholders (e.g. Finance, Procurement) and external vendors to synchronise receivables and payables
- Support onboarding of new members and facilitate smooth day-to-day interactions within the centre
Community & Marketing Support
- Conceptualise, plan and deliver events to rally and bring together the community of deep-tech ecosystem including A.STAR and Singapore. This could be training, seminars, fireside chats, networking events, and trade shows.
- Enhance onsite branding, marketing collaterals and merchandise, and online marketing on social media. This requires familiarity with eDM and content creation software and applications such as Canva,
- Be the connector and point of contact for members and visitors to feel welcomed and engaged in the community.
Requirements:
Diploma in Business, Event Management, Facilities Management, Engineering, IT, or related disciplines
At least 3 years of relevant experience in centre operations, community management, marketing, or event management preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interface professionally with startups, scientists, and stakeholders. Able to maintain composure and communicate calmly to unexpected situations
Strong attention to detail, prioritise, multi-task and manage concurrent tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Proficiency with IT systems, including social media platforms, databases, and eDM tools
Team-oriented, proactive, and adaptable
Experience and familiarity in makerspaces, engineering workshops, or fabrication labs will be an advantage.
