We are seeking a highly experienced legal professional to advise a diverse client base that includes financial institutions, private credit providers, export credit agencies, leasing companies, asset owners, and Fortune 500 corporations.
The successful candidate will provide strategic counsel on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, with a particular focus on complex, cross-border transactions and disputes. This role requires deep expertise in handling multi-jurisdictional competing security enforcement actions and restructuring matters, especially those arising from insolvency and distressed situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on corporate and commercial legal matters across multiple industries
- Manage and lead multi-jurisdictional security enforcement processes
- Provide strategic guidance on restructuring and insolvency-related matters
- Support clients in distressed scenarios, including debt workouts and recovery strategies
- Coordinate with international stakeholders and legal teams on cross-border issues
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, commercial acumen, and the ability to navigate complex, high-stakes legal environments.
Key Skills & Experience
- A qualified lawyer with at least 2-4 years post qualification experience with relevant asset finance experience in a well-regarded firm
- Undergraduate degree from a leading university and/or a relevant qualification in Law
- Excellent written communication and drafting skills
- The ability to interact and build relationships with people at all levels
- Commitment to excellent client service
- Strong international technical knowledge of the legal framework surrounding asset finance particularly in the fields of shipping and/or aviation, but with a willingness to work in both sectors (even where skills in one or the other may currently be more developed)
- Experience in advising banks and financial institutions in debt-financing and refinancing arrangements in shipping/aviation finance facilities
- Experience in advising on non-recourse and limited recourse project financings
