Job Description
As an Associate Psychologist within the Child Protection Specialist Centre, you play a pivotal role in supporting psychological assessments and deliver evidence-based interventions for children and families experiencing trauma and mental health difficulties due to violence.
Clinical Work
- Triage referred cases for psychological services
- Conduct and assist in psychological screening and assessments of children and families to understand mental health difficulties and risk concerns under supervision
- Assist in developing case formulations and treatment plans
- Deliver trauma-informed evidence-based interventions under supervision
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and case conferences with internal and external stakeholders
Service Development, Evaluation and Research
- Support data collection and analysis for routine service evaluation
- Assist in developing training materials or resources for internal staff and external partners
- Contribute to research initiatives within the department
Qualification & Skills
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Psychology from a recognised institution
- Eligibility for registration with the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) or equivalent professional body preferred
Relevant Experience
- 1-2 years of prior clinical experience in child / youth / family settings
- Experience with trauma-informed work and/or protection work is an advantage
Competencies & Skills
- Knowledge of psychological theories, assessment tools, and evidence-based interventions
- Strong case formulation and report writing skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to engage young people and families from diverse backgrounds
- Demonstrates professionalism and ability to manage emotionally challenging material
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
- Team-player who is open to feedback and supervision
