RESPONSIBILITIES

As an Associate Psychologist within the Child Protection Specialist Centre, you play a pivotal role in supporting psychological assessments and deliver evidence-based interventions for children and families experiencing trauma and mental health difficulties due to violence.

Clinical Work

• Triage referred cases for psychological services
• Conduct and assist in psychological screening and assessments of children and families to understand mental health difficulties and risk concerns under supervision
• Assist in developing case formulations and treatment plans
• Deliver trauma-informed evidence-based interventions under supervision
• Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and case conferences with internal and external stakeholders

Service Development, Evaluation and Research

• Support data collection and analysis for routine service evaluation
• Assist in developing training materials or resources for internal staff and external partners
• Contribute to research initiatives within the department

QUALIFICATIONS

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Psychology from a recognised institution
• Eligibility for registration with the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) or equivalent professional body preferred

Relevant Experience

• 1-2 years of prior clinical experience in child / youth / family settings
• Experience with trauma-informed work and/or protection work is an advantage

Competencies & Skills

• Knowledge of psychological theories, assessment tools, and evidence-based interventions
• Strong case formulation and report writing skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to engage young people and families from diverse backgrounds
• Demonstrates professionalism and ability to manage emotionally challenging material
• Strong organisational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
• Team-player who is open to feedback and supervision
