JD: Associate Portfolio Monitoring (Private Equity)

Our client is a leading private equity firm focused on Asia-Pacific with an impressive investment track record over the past 2 decades specializing in mid-market investments through primary funds, secondary transactions, and co-investments. Managing a multi-billion USD AUM across multiple funds, the firm has established relationships with top tier venture capital, growth capital and buyout funds, as well as leading private companies across Asia-Pacific.

Due to expanding business needs, they are now looking for a detail-oriented and commercially minded Associate to join their Portfolio Monitoring team as part of their Finance function. This role sits at the intersection of data, investments, and investor reporting offering strong exposure to private equity fund operations, performance analytics, and cross-functional collaboration with the Investment Team.

Key Responsibilities:

A) Own and Elevate Portfolio Data Integrity

  • Lead the setup and onboarding of new funds and underlying fund managers (UFMs) within eFront or similar systems.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of portfolio company and fund-level data in the system.
  • Validate data inputs against quarterly reports, capital statements, and other official submissions.

B) Drive Performance Analytics & Reporting

  • Generate performance metrics and analytics to support annual meetings, field trips, LP updates, fundraising efforts, and internal decision-making.
  • Partner with the Investment Team to resolve classification and reporting issues.
  • Support the preparation and coordination of responses to LP requests.
  • Produce Quarterly reporting to investors.

C) Be the Bridge Between Data and Investment Insights

  • Liaise directly with UFMs to resolve portfolio-related queries.
  • Contribute to enhancing dashboards, reporting workflows, and analytics processes.
  • Support strategic projects and continuous improvement initiatives within the Finance function.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of relevant experience in private equity, hedge funds, asset management, fund services, or a large accounting firm.
  • Strong quantitative orientation with experience in performance reporting and data analysis.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Clear and structured communicator (verbal and written).
  • Independent, resourceful, and collaborative team player.
  • Strong proficiency in technology tools and data extraction/ modelling/ visualization tools.

Additional Skills Advantage:

  • Hands-on experience with eFront, including dashboard/ report customization.
  • Accounting qualification and familiarity with IFRS and/or US GAAP.
