Make an Impact by:

• Responsible for all pipe and fibre infra planning and implementation works.
• To proactively top up fibre and pipe when required
• To perform cab survey, identify capacity of each cab and prepare site survey report
• To lead technicians to support pipe and fiber project during implementation phase and supervise contractors to work at site with restricted access
• Manage and resolve site issues related to pipe and cables, coordinate with provisioning teams and contractors until completion of equipment commissioning
• Ensure that target dates (Customer Ready Date) for all access fibre cable schemes are met so that services can be provided expeditiously to customers
• Attend site meeting with other public bodies, private housing developers, building management, etc, in connection with provision and diversion of underground plants.
• To supervise technicians and contractors to execute all access fibre cable works in the area under his/her care in accordance with all established operation procedures and engineering instructions
• To lead site survey, site meetings, troubleshooting
• To take ownership and manage staff on fibre splicing, fibre termination, fibre patching and fiber testing for the provisioning and maintenance of fibre based products
• To conduct power meter test, OTDR test to check on the contractors quality of work
• Take charge for the maintenance of pipe and fibre infra attend to emergency cable breakdowns and system outage during and after office hours
• On standby and attend to site when being mobilized
• Perform testing on site to identify faulty cables
• Supervise contractors to perform restoration works in cab and manhole
• Any other duties assigned by the Supervisor

Skills for Success:

• ITE/ Diploma certification in Engineering preferable in Telecommunication or Info-communications Technology.
• Preferably 2 to 3 years working experience.
• Good knowledge in running operations.
• Project Management, ensuring target dates are met.
• Able to manage contractors effectively and communicate with internal stakeholders.
• Able to commit on standby task for restoration works
• Good working knowledge of PC applications such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Good communication skills, tactful, keen to learn and a team player.
• Able to cope and work in a fast-paced environment.
