Job Description

Secretlab is an international gaming chair brand seating over a million users worldwide, with our key markets in the United States, Europe and Singapore, where we are headquartered.

Our Quality & Reliability team ensures that every product we ship performs the way our users expectday after day, year after year. We validate designs, stress-test components, analyse failures, and apply real-world data to strengthen future releases.

We are seeking a hands-on, detail-driven Reliability Associate Engineer to support the full reliability cycle, from prototype testing to field-issue analysis. You will work closely with Product Development, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Aftersales, and external labs to ensure our products are tested realistically, built to last, and continuously improved.

This role is a strong fit if you enjoy practical engineering work - running tests, breaking things systematically, understanding why they fail, and using those learnings to shape more durable, reliable products at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and track in-house reliability tests on prototypes, components, and assemblies across all build phases.
  • Develop and update reliability test suites and test plans based on PRD requirements, real-world usage, and field learnings.
  • Coordinate external lab testing, including scheduling, sample preparation, progress follow-ups, and report consolidation.
  • Conduct first-pass failure analysis on test failures and recall units, documenting observations and proposing next steps.
  • Support PQE and Aftersales in integrating lessons from field issues back into future test coverage and guidelines.
  • Assist in evaluating materials and components, including basic characterization, comparison studies, and input into the material database.
  • Work with Product Development, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and CMs to validate fixes and ensure issues are closed before key milestones.
  • Maintain and operate reliability rigs, fixtures, and test equipment; perform routine maintenance and calibration to ensure accurate results.
  • Prepare clear test records, FA notes, and summaries, ensuring documentation is accurate, complete, and audit-ready.
  • Analyse test and field data using basic tools (e.g., Excel) to identify patterns, risks, or gaps in test coverage.
  • Highlight reliability risks early, raise gaps in planned testing, and recommend improvements to design, materials, or processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts, including lab capability upgrades, test method refinements, and reliability best-practice development.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Materials Science/Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline with a strong foundation in materials and failure modes.
  • 02 years of experience in reliability, testing, quality, or lab-based engineering; relevant internships or academic projects are a plus.
  • Working knowledge of polymers, metals, material behavior under load, and basic failure analysis principles.
  • Comfortable running hands-on tests, operating fixtures and rigs, and troubleshooting mechanical/electrical setups.
  • Proficient in Excel with the ability to organise data, interpret trends, and support basic test analytics.
  • Familiarity with reliability engineering concepts such as FMEA, test planning, teardown analysis, or root-cause thinking is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail, disciplined documentation habits, and a structured approach to experimental work.
  • Effective communicator who can collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Able to manage multiple test queues, follow-ups, and timelines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese (to converse with Chinese speaking counterparts).
