TNC is seeking an experienced, enterprising, and driven philanthropy professional to join us as an Associate Director of Development for Singapore. The Associate Director of Development II (ADoD II) works closely with the development team to plan, implement, and coordinate effective multi-year strategies and plans for gift prospects, including corporate, foundation, and/or individual donors in Singapore for support of TNC&aposs highest global conservation priorities to achieve our 2030 goals.

The ADoD II will develop qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies for a portfolio of donors interested in supporting TNCs conservation efforts globally and in collaboration with TNCs executive, conservation, and fundraising leadership and with TNCs network of committed board members, donors, partners and friends. The donors managed by the ADOD will require sophisticated relationship management, a high degree of knowledge of assets and ownership structures, and an expert understanding of the factors influencing philanthropic giving. They will focus on long-range strategic priorities and be responsible for donor strategy and proposal development, working with conservation and development staff, as well as donors, to create transformational giving opportunities. The ADOD reports to the Director of Development, Singapore and will be part of the Global Markets Team, a cross-cutting global team focused on engaging global citizens in wealth centers around the world who are seeking to improve conservation and environmental outcomes, for both people and nature

The Associate Director of Development II is responsible for managing a portfolio of qualified donors and building strong relationships. They understand and apply complex principles of developing donor strategies. They will be responsible for direct asks to both global and local priorities to meet funding needs. They can discuss assets and listen for opportunities for gifts of assets or other non-cash gifts, such as planned gifts and trade lands. The ADoD II provides opportunities for donors to receive recognition and increase future giving. They involve and engage appropriate partners in the field and at the Worldwide Office, keeping them apprised of interactions, issues and/or concerns, and address questions as needed. They are capable of featuring the programs of the Conservancy in detailed terms and can confidently discuss legacy giving opportunities. The ADoD II understands project budgets and may build proposal budgets utilizing this knowledge. They will develop a referral network as needed and may manage formal and/or informal networks of volunteers. They will be required to use the Conservancys donor database and may develop proposals.

What Youll Bring

  • Bachelors degree and 6 years related experience or an equivalent combination.
  • Experience in cultivating and ultimately stewarding the development of a pipeline of new donors.
  • Experience in fundraising strategy development focusing on identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major and principal gift level donors (donors able to give USD $500K or more)
  • Experience in building donor specific strategies focused on High Net Worth Individuals and private foundations
  • Experience building and maintaining long-term relationships with constituents such as major donors and corporations.
  • Experience in asking for and closing six and seven figure gifts.
  • Experience in managing and tracking multiple prospects and donors.
  • Experience working with fundraising principles and practices.
  • Experience, coursework, or other training in current and evolving trends in charitable giving, particularly in the areas of capital campaigns, major gifts and planned giving.

Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to travel including internationally when necessary.
  • Ability to work proactively and independently while seamlessly communicating with a team of professions across multiple time zones.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality of frequently sensitive and emotionally charged information.
  • Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.
  • Ability to design and manage fundraising plans, including individualized cultivation, solicitation and recognition plans.
  • Ability to determine an individuals interests, capacity and potential for helping the Conservancy meet its goals, and act appropriately to tie those interests with the Conservancys work.
  • Ability to educate and inform prospective and existing donors about appropriate giving vehicles.
  • Demonstrated experience using listening, diplomacy and tact to build strong relationships and motivate donors and volunteers.
  • Proven ability to negotiate complex, high profile or sensitive agreements.
  • Working knowledge of charitable gift planning.

Salary Information

The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of SGD $133,500 - SGD $160,950. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is Singapore. Where a successful candidates actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate&aposs location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside of Singapore would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to Singapore pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
