Role Overview:
The Associate Director will be responsible for originating and closing new institutional business opportunities across Southeast Asia. This role requires a proven track record in institutional sales, with deep experience engaging senior decision-makers at Sovereign Wealth Funds, Pension Funds, Central Banks, Insurance companies, and Endowments. The successful candidate will drive strategic engagement, secure mandates, and contribute to the firm's long-term growth through a consultative approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the origination and successful closure of new institutional business, meeting and surpassing annual revenue objectives.
- Cultivate and sustain long-term, trust-based partnerships with senior decision-makers across the institutional client base.
- Design and implement strategic approaches to manage extended sales cycles and adapt to regulatory developments.
- Represent the organization in competitive RFP processes and product presentations, ensuring solutions are tailored to client needs.
- Offer customized investment perspectives, drawing on expertise in asset-liability management, risk oversight, and compliance frameworks.
- Ensure exceptional servicing and relationship management for existing institutional accounts, reinforcing client satisfaction and retention.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field.
- Minimum 6 years of institutional sales or investment experience within asset management or financial services.
- Proven success in originating and closing institutional business in Southeast Asia (an anonymized deal sheet is required).
- Strong track record of building relationships with Sovereign Wealth Funds, Pension Funds, Central Banks, Insurance firms, and Endowments.
- Solid understanding of strategic asset allocation and asset classes including equities, fixed income, and alternatives.
- Knowledge of institutional investment vehicles such as commingled funds, separate accounts, and ETFs.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to craft impactful reports and proposals.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and ability to manage multiple client engagement stages.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently and contribute to broader business strategy.
- Language skills in Bahasa are advantageous.
