A leader in Shipping and Logistics company is currently expanding and looking for highly qualified candidates for the Data Engineer position based in Singapore.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest data from diverse sources including internal systems, APIs, and web platforms
- Ensure the availability of high-quality, reliable data to support analytics and machine learning initiatives
- Optimize cloud-based data infrastructure for performance and cost-efficiency
- Implement robust data validation, quality checks, and monitoring systems
- Enhance data warehouse performance through techniques like partitioning and clustering
- Collaborate with data science teams to productionize preprocessing logic and support feature engineering
- Automate workflows using orchestration tools such as Airflow or Luigi, with clear documentation
- Contribute to the development of data governance and quality assurance frameworks
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related discipline
- 1-3 years of experience in data engineering or similar roles
- Proficient in Python and SQL for large-scale data processing
- Hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses (e.g., BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake)
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT frameworks and orchestration tools (Airflow, Luigi, Cloud Composer)
- Understanding of data governance, validation frameworks, and quality assurance practices
- Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and distributed computing principles
- Solid grasp of data modeling and warehousing optimization techniques
