Job Description

The Opportunity

Baker McKenzie Wong & Leow is seeking a highcalibre Associate (approximately 2-5 years PQE) to join our marketleading global Corporate Reorganisations practice in Singapore. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the continued growth of our Singapore platform, with a clear mandate to expand the volume of global and regional reorganisation projects led from Singapore.

The successful candidate will join a dedicated, globally integrated team and work closely with the partner leading our corporate reorganisation offering in Singapore. You will take ownership of significant workstreams on complex, multijurisdictional matters and contribute to the strategic development of a practice that is a core differentiator for the Firm worldwide.

About the Team

Baker McKenzie is one of the few global law firms with a specialised, fullservice corporate reorganisations practice, advising multinational clients at every stage of the group restructuring lifecycle. Our Singapore team is a central node within this network and regularly leads highvalue, multijurisdictional reorganisations involving AsiaPacific, Europe, and the Americas.

The practice is experiencing strong and sustained growth, supported by a clear strategic vision: to further strengthen Singapore as a regional centre of excellence for complex reorganisations, corporate structuring, and crossborder entity optimisation. Joining the team now offers the opportunity to be part of an accelerated growth trajectory and to build deep expertise in a highly soughtafter specialist field.

The Role

As a core member of the Singapore reorganisations team, you will:

  • Act as a key execution Associate on corporate reorganisation matters, including multi jurisdictional group restructurings.
  • Work closely with Min-tze Lean to manage and deliver defined workstreams efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Analyse, design, and implement corporate structures to meet clients commercial and regulatory objectives, applying strong corporate law fundamentals and practical judgement.
  • Draft and coordinate reorganisation and corporate documentation across multiple jurisdictions, including liaising with local counsel where required.
  • Lead day-to-day project management, including managing timelines, deliverables, and inter office coordination.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and consistency, including contributing to document automation, template development, and process optimisation within the practice.
  • Develop and apply a working understanding of corporate law concepts across multiple jurisdictions.

This role is not focused on managing or negotiating substantive PE/M&A deal documentation. Instead, it is ideal for Associates who enjoy corporate structures, technical problem solving, and structured, nontransactional corporate work.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys analytical and structural challenges and is keen to build deep capability in a specialised, globally recognised practice.

You will ideally bring:

  • Approximately 25 years PQE, with a solid grounding in corporate law.
  • Experience in reorganisations, restructurings, or structured corporate advisory work.
  • Strong interest in corporate structures, entitylevel issues, and multijurisdictional problem solving.
  • Excellent drafting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex workstreams independently.
  • A collaborative, proactive mindset, with enthusiasm for contributing to a growing and strategically important practice.
