Low-wage migrant workers in Singapore often face challenges such as work injury, loss of employment, and limited social support. Many require assistance navigating services, accessing basic needs, and staying connected to support systems.
The Associate Casework role supports the Counselling, Casework, and Social Services team by assisting with client coordination, case tracking, documentation, and social assistance processes. This role helps ensure that services are delivered smoothly and that client information is accurately recorded and followed up.
This is a non-clinical, support role, working closely with caseworkers and counsellors.
Key Responsibilities
1. Client & Intake Support
- Attend to walk-in clients and direct them to appropriate staff
- Support basic intake coordination for casework and counselling referrals
- Assist with redirecting clients to relevant services (e.g. clinics, PCPs)
2. Casework & Counselling Administration
- Update case records in systems (e.g. Zoho, casework tracking sheets)
- Maintain referral, intake, and follow-up logs
- Track case updates and flag pending follow-ups
- Support non-clinical case closure documentation and testimonials
3. Social Assistance Support
- Respond to Food and Phone Top-up WhatsApp messages
- Update subsidy tracking and assistance records
- Prepare simple weekly reports (e.g. food support)
- Support documentation for assistance requests (non-assessment)
4. Outreach & Programme Support
- Assist with outreach activities (e.g. MABW, dormitory or hospital visits)
- Update outreach logs and collect feedback forms
- Support basic coordination for events and group activities
- Upload photos and records for programme documentation
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Ensure daily and weekly logs are updated
- Maintain proper documentation for all activities
- Highlight missing information or pending items to the team
- Support preparation of simple summaries for reporting
Scope of Role
- Works under supervision of caseworkers and counsellors
- Does not conduct counselling or independent risk assessments
- Does not make decisions on financial assistance or case outcomes
Requirements
Required
- Diploma or background in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or related fields
- Comfortable with administrative and coordination tasks
- Able to work with sensitivity and confidentiality
- Organised and able to follow structured processes
Preferred
- Previous internship or volunteer experience in social services
- Familiarity with migrant worker issues
- Advantage: Ability to communicate in additional languages (Tamil, Bengali)
Working Arrangement
- Part-time role (e.g. 3 -4 days/week)
