Role Overview
In this role, you will support SIMC's technology initiatives. You will be primarily responsible for managing and supporting AI solutions/technologies to enhance the mediation process and operational efficiency. In addition, you will also manage IT suppliers, co-ordinate IT projects, and occasionally assisting with day-to-day operational needs. This position reports to the Head of Operations and offers excellent potential for career advancement into specialised IT and AI functions.
Key Responsibilities
LLM & Applied AI Workflows
. Design, test, and optimise prompts for various mediation scenarios, maintain high quality prompt libraries and reusable templates, aligned with mediation principles and organisational policies.
. Develop a deep, practical understanding of mediation workflows and identify how AI/LLM capabilities-such as summarisation, retrieval, agentic task execution, and workflow automation-can be applied to real use cases to create tangible value.
. Evaluate LLM and agentic outputs, diagnose and troubleshoot edge cases and failure modes and propose improvements, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to refine solutions.
. Design, and discuss highlevel AI and agentic architectures, including LLM orchestration models, data flows, and deployment considerations such as data residency, logging, and guardrail mechanisms.
. Stay current on emerging AI trends for mediation and broader legal technology, including emerging evaluation frameworks, safety and governance standards, regulatory developments, and best practices.
Cybersecurity Readiness
. Support audit and certification readiness through basic configuration reviews, safety documentation, and compliance reporting.
. Apply practical cybersecurity and legal-tech assessment skills to evaluate AI technologies and vendors, including review of security certifications, questionnaires, data processing agreements, and incident-handling procedures.
. Help maintain core IT system, including networking, servers, storage, backup systems, and endpoint protection to ensure the resilience of IT systems.
. Assist with establishing and refining continuous monitoring routines for SIMC's IT and AI stack, including log review, anomaly detection, baseline configurations, access control, and compliance requirements.
Technical Support
. Provide first-level troubleshooting for Microsoft 365, Intune device enrolment, compliance policies, endpoint security and other IT or AI-related issues and escalating incidents to external IT vendors where necessary.
. Coordinate with IT service providers on configuration changes, integration support, and operational issues related to IT and AI-enabled tools.
. Review vendor solution documentation to assess safety, security, interoperability, and compatibility with existing workflows and integrations.
. Design, build and maintain small prototypes or internal tools for departments to experiment with AI-driven workflow that support process improvements.
. Degree or Diploma in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Midcareer changers and apprenticeships are welcomed.
. 0 to 3 years of experience in any combination of AI-enabled solutions, software or low-code development, IT administration, security, workflow automation, or legal-tech support.
. Hands-on experience with LLMs and strong proficiency in prompt engineering, with an understanding of model behaviour, agentic workflows and concepts, and vendor technical documentation.
. Proficiency in Python, APIs, data processing and building prototype on AI-enabled workflows and automation is highly advantageous.
. Good understanding of cloud security concepts, including identity, logging, data protection, logging and vendor due diligence framework.
. Experience with Microsoft 365 administration, Intune and related security settings tooling and configurations is highly desirable.
. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain AI constraints, risks, and model behaviour to nontechnical stakeholders.
. Relevant certifications in AI fundamentals, Microsoft/Azure administration, or cloud security (e.g. Azure Fundamentals, Security/Compliance certifications, or equivalent) are a plus.
