Job Description
The AVP, Critical Facilities Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operational integrity and maintenance of critical infrastructure within United Overseas Bank Ltd's facilities, ensuring uninterrupted business operations and compliance with all relevant standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of facilities technicians in the day-to-day operations and maintenance of critical building systems, including but not limited to HVAC, electrical (UPS, generators, switchgear), fire suppression, and building management systems (BMS) within data centers and other critical bank facilities.
- Develop, implement, and oversee preventive maintenance programs and schedules to maximize equipment uptime and minimize the risk of failures.
- Respond to and troubleshoot critical incidents, alarms, and outages promptly, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to restore services efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure all critical facilities operations comply with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and internal UOB policies and procedures.
- Manage vendor relationships, service contracts, and procurement of parts and services for critical facilities equipment, ensuring cost-effectiveness and service quality.
- Develop and manage the critical facilities operational budget, tracking expenditures and identifying areas for efficiency improvements.
- Oversee the implementation of new critical infrastructure projects, including design review, commissioning, and integration into existing systems.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of critical facilities to identify potential risks, ensure compliance, and recommend improvements.
- Train and mentor facilities staff, promoting a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, incident reports, and system performance data.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related technical field. Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Certified Facilities Manager) are a plus.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in critical facilities management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably within a banking, financial services, or data center environment.
- In-depth knowledge of critical power systems (UPS, generators, switchgear), HVAC systems (CRAC units, chillers), fire suppression systems, and building management systems (BMS).
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and make critical decisions under pressure.
- Strong understanding of industry standards and regulations relevant to critical infrastructure (e.g., Uptime Institute tiers, NFPA, local building codes).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Experience with budget management, vendor negotiations, and contract administration.
- Proficiency in using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) and other facilities management software.
- Ability to work flexible hours and be on-call for emergencies as required.
