Key Responsibilities
Strategic Tax Compliance and Advisory
- Responsible for all matters relating to direct and indirect taxes in Singapore and the overseas countries which the Group operates in
- Review tax computations and ensure tax compliance and timely filing of tax returns
- Manage relationships with tax authorities and external professionals to handle tax matters and address tax queries
- Provide guidance on GST, stamp duty and property tax-related matters
- Provide tax advisory and support to business units
- Review existing tax practices and proactively provide advice to improve them
- Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time
Tax Planning
- Identify tax planning opportunities and mitigate tax risks for the Group
- Keen and able to undertake tax restructuring activities to create an optimal tax structure for the Group's local and overseas operations
- Analyse and interpret the impact of changes to laws and regulations on tax liabilities and tax structuring
Key Requirements
- An accredited tax practitioner
- Degree in Accountancy
- Minimum 10 years of Singapore and international practical tax experiences, ideally combining a reputable professional firm and in-house commercial experience within the real estate sector
- Expert knowledge of Singapore and international tax (specifically Australia, Maldives and US taxes)
- High integrity, independent and possessing strong interpersonal skills to influence status quo
- Strong attention to detail
