Key Responsibilities
Underwriting Support
- Marine Hull and Aviation teams to support underwriting activities incompliance with company guidelines.
- Assist in the assessment of risks for new and renewal business within the Marine Hull and Aviation portfolios.
- Prepare underwriting submissions, review policy terms and conditions, and ensure compliance with company underwriting standards.
- Provide recommendations and decisions on straightforward risks, under supervision.
- Manage small underwriting authority to handle simple renewals and issue endorsements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to internal policies.
Post-Bind Activities
- File underwriting documents and correspondence into the shared drive/folder to maintain organized and accurate records for audit and compliance purposes.
- Prepare booking instructions for the Operations team to ensure accurate premium processing and record-keeping.
- Monitor and manage endorsements, ensuring timely processing and documentation.
- Conduct premium reconciliation to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies incoordination with relevant teams.
Client and Team Coordination
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders to support business retention and development.
- Assist in managing inquiries from brokers and clients, providing timely responses and solutions.
Professional Development
- Gain exposure to underwriting principles and processes under the mentorship of senior underwriters.
- Develop skills to manage and sign endorsements independently.
- Gradually take on more complex underwriting responsibilities as proficiency is demonstrated.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field (preferred).
- 3-5 years of experience in Marine Hull LOB is required.
- Experience in Aviation LOB is preferred but not essential.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, both independently andcollaboratively.
Key Competencies:
- Industry Expertise: Proven knowledge and experience in Marine Hull underwriting familiarity with Aviation insurance is advantageous.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to evaluate data and provide insights to support underwriting decisions.
