Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Junior Underwriter to join a growing underwriting team supporting facultative underwriting activities. You will work closely with experienced Senior Underwriters who will mentor and guide you, providing hands-on exposure to underwriting processes, risk analysis, and market insights.
Responsibilities
- Deliver administrative and analytical support to the underwriting team to enhance underwriting efficiency and accuracy
- Review underwriting reports and extract key observations to inform and support underwriting decisions
- Conduct research on market trends, risks, and industry developments to provide relevant insights for underwriting assessments
- Compile and prepare comprehensive underwriting reports and documentation to facilitate decision-making
- Maintain accurate records and manage data using internal systems to ensure data integrity and accessibility
- Collaborate on ad-hoc projects and initiatives assigned by the underwriting team to support business objectives
- Engage with a Senior Underwriter mentor to develop skills and knowledge in facultative underwriting practices through guided training and hands-on experience
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Degree in Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, or other quantitative disciplines
- Up to 2 years of working experience in insurance, finance, or related fields
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word to support data analysis and documentation tasks
- Analytical thinking and attention to detail to identify risks and support underwriting accuracy
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Additional language proficiency, considered an advantage to support communication in diverse markets
