Assistant Trader - Entry Level - Physical Trade

Job Description

• Conduct market and industry research to identify potential trading opportunities and support the development of trading strategies.

• Prepare marketing and presentation materials to support trading initiatives and business development activities.

• Draft and manage sales and purchase contracts related to trade transactions.

• Maintain accurate records and documentation of trading activities and transactions.

• Coordinate with the China office on trade-related matters to ensure smooth information flow and collaboration.

• Manage inventory samples, including recording, packing, and proper storage.

• Work closely with the Operations team to coordinate shipments and logistics, including the application of Incoterms where relevant.

• Provide administrative and operational support to the trading team.

• Assist the Trading Manager with scheduling, travel arrangements, and meeting coordination.

• Support client engagement activities and maintain effective working relationships with business partners.

• Travel overseas for trade conferences or business meetings when required.

• Perform additional tasks or responsibilities assigned to support team operations and business objectives.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related discipline.

• Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

• High level of attention to detail and organisational ability.

• Commercial awareness with an interest in trading and market dynamics.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

• Willingness to travel for business when required.

• Familiarity with Incoterms and international trade processes will be an advantage.
