About the Role
We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented, and collaborative Assistant Retail Store Planner cum Interior Designer to support our store planning and design team. This role offers the opportunity to be involved in retail design, tenant coordination, and project execution within a dynamic department store environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design Review & Concept Alignment
- Review tenant and brand design proposals to ensure alignment with the store's overall concept and guidelines
- Provide design recommendations to enhance aesthetics, functionality, and customer experience
Store Planning & Visual Merchandising
- Assist in space planning, layout development, and optimization of retail floor areas
- Support the visual planning team to maintain a cohesive and engaging store environment
Design Development
- Prepare layout plans and detailed drawings using AutoCAD
- Support 3D visualization using SketchUp (preferred)
- Ensure accuracy and coordination of design documentation
Project Coordination
- Assist the Senior Store Planner in managing fit-out and renovation projects
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and internal teams
- Monitor progress to ensure compliance with approved designs
Regulatory Compliance
- Support design compliance with Singapore authorities (URA, SCDF, BCA, NEA, etc)
- Assist with basic submission requirements where necessary
Data & Reporting
- Update and maintain sales floor area records quarterly.
Additional Responsibilities
- Support the team with ad hoc tasks as required
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field
- Experience in retail and/or commercial design projects is required
- Proficient in AutoCAD (SketchUp is an advantage)
- Strong design sense and attention to detail
- A good team player with strong collaboration skills
- Good communication and coordination abilities
- Able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
