About the Brand

Slab Coffee is a specialty coffee brand built for the pace of the Singapore Central Business District. We are a dependable ritual - a calm reset, served well, every day. Our work is grounded in ethical sourcing, freshly roasted beans, and clean execution behind the bar. We keep the operation steady, the standards clear, and the cup consistent. As we grow, we are looking for people who want to build something dependable with us.

About the Role

At Slab, the Assistant Store Manager is the person who holds the team together. You will lead a small, committed crew, develop them shift by shift, and grow with the brand as we open new outlets across Singapore and the region.

The Assistant Store Manager runs the floor. You lead shifts, supervise the team, hold service standards, manage inventory, and keep daily operations on track. You are the bridge between the team on the ground and the management above - the person who makes sure the outlet performs consistently, day in and day out. The role demands operational discipline, calm leadership, and the ability to solve problems quickly without losing standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead opening, mid, and closing shifts brief the team and assign clear responsibilities.
  • Supervise service quality, bar output, and floor cleanliness throughout the shift.
  • Support staff scheduling, breaks, and shift coverage incoordination with the Store Manager.
  • Handle daily cash management, POS reconciliation, and end-of-day reporting.
  • Monitor stock levels, place orders, receive deliveries, and manage wastage.
  • Resolve customer complaints professionally and escalate where appropriate.
  • Train, coach, and correct team members on SOPs, service, and product standards.
  • Conduct daily checks on hygiene, equipment, and food safety compliance.
  • Report operational issues, staffing concerns, and trends to the Store Manager and HQ.
  • Step in on bar, floor, or counter as needed during peak hours or coverage gaps.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory or senior crew experience in F&B, café, or hospitality.
  • Working knowledge of café operations: bar, floor, kitchen flow, and POS systems.
  • Strong communication skills in English able to brief, coach, and report clearly.
  • Comfortable with basic spreadsheets, stock take forms, and daily reporting

What We Are Looking For

A steady operator. You lead with composure, not volume. You hold the team to standard without being harsh, and you are honest about what is working and what is not. You take ownership of the shift - the numbers, the cleanliness, the customer experience, and the team's performance. You are organized, observant, and willing to do the small operational work that keeps the outlet running well.

What We Offer

  • Direct mentorship from the Store Manager and founders.
  • Structured training in operations, leadership, inventory, and reporting.
  • Progression: Assistant Store Manager → Store Manager →Multi-outlet roles as the brand expands.
  • Performance bonus eligibility and bi-annual performance reviews.
  • A workplace that values clean execution and long-term career building.
  • Opportunity to grow into regional roles as we expand.

How We Work

This role carries responsibility. We expect punctuality, professional conduct, and full accountability for the shift you lead. Cash, stock, scheduling, and reporting are handled with accuracy and integrity. SOPs are upheld and enforced consistently. Communication with the team and with management is clear, respectful, and timely - issues are flagged early. We are building a brand that runs cleanly, and the Assistant Store Manager is central to that.
