Assistant Senior Life Coach

As a member of the Adult Empowerment Services, the Assistant Senior Life Coach position is tailored for Life Coaches who are starting to assume supervisory responsibilities for junior colleagues. The Assistant Senior Life Coach continues to deliver structured programmes and support to adults with disabilities within the Adult Empowerment Services (AES). The role is responsible for implementing programmes, supporting client development in life skills and community participation, and ensuring safe, consistent, and meaningful daily engagement aligned with Good Life Care Plan outcomes.

Working closely with the Senior Life Coach and multidisciplinary professionals, the Assistant Senior Life Coach translates programme plans into effective daily activities, supports client assessments, monitors progress, and maintains accurate documentation.

The Assistant Senior Life Coach also plays an active role in collaborating with families and team members, ensuring that programmes remain responsive to client needs while upholding Rainbow Centre's mission, safeguarding standards, and service values.

Work Critical Functions

Client Engagement & Programme Delivery

• Activity Design: Design and implement structured, engaging, and client-centred activities aligned with developmental goals and service direction
• Programme Facilitation: Facilitate individual and group-based programmes that support life skills, creativity, social interaction, and participation
• Client Participation & Inclusion Strategies: Develop and implement strategies to enhance participation, motivation, and sustained engagement among clients
• Individual Care Planning: Support the development and review of individualised care plans, where applicable and track client progress through systematic observation and data collection
• Client Support: Provide guidance and support to clients to encourage independence, engagement, and appropriate behaviours
• Client Progress Monitoring & Escalation: Monitor client progress and identify changes in client behaviour, wellbeing, or participation, and escalate concerns, risks, or incidents to the Senior Life Coach in a timely manner, ensuring appropriate documentation and follow-up
  
  

Holistic Client Development, Family Partnership & Safeguarding

• Client Relationship & Engagement: Build positive and trust-based relationships with clients to support engagement and development
• Family Engagement: Communicate with families on clients progress, participation, and wellbeing, as guided by supervisors
• Multidisciplinary Programme Discussion & Review: Participate in multidisciplinary discussions and programme reviews to support coordinated client development
• Incident Response, Documentation, & Escalation: Respond appropriately to behavioural, health, or safety concerns, ensuring timely documentation and escalation where required
• Safeguarding & Safety Compliance: Ensure safeguarding, health, safety, and hygiene practices are consistently followed during programme activities
  
  

Programme Administration & Documentation

• Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client records, progress notes, and programme activities
• Resource & Logistics Management: Prepare and organise programme materials, equipment, and resources required for activities
• Programme Alignment: Ensure programme implementation is aligned with service guidelines, policies, and quality standards
• Reporting & Data Collection: Support data collection and reporting for programme monitoring and service review
  
  

Team Coordination & Professional Practice

• Supervision: Under supervision of Senior Life Coach, provide case supervision to junior life coaches to maintain standards and skills
• Guidance & Mentorship: Provide guidance and direction to Assistant Life Coaches and Life Coaches during programme implementation
• Multidisciplinary Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with Senior Life Coaches, therapists, social workers, and other professionals
• Service Improvement: Contribute to team discussions, case reviews, and programme planning
• Professional Development: Participate in training, supervision, and professional development to strengthen practice capability
  
  

Collaboration, Stakeholder Engagement & Community Participation

• Family, Caregiver, & Internal Engagement: Work with families, caregivers, and partners to support client participation and development
• Community Inclusion Support: Support community-based activities and programmes that promote social inclusion
• External Programme Coordination: Assist in coordinating client participation in external activities, events, or partnerships
• Organisational Representation: Represent AES professionally in programme-related engagements as required
  
  

Job Requirements

• A good recognised Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Psychology, Social Services, or related fields.
• A Certificate in Autism, Diploma in Special Education, or related professional training will be an advantage.
• At least 4 years of relevant professional experience working with persons with disabilities within adult services, special education, early intervention, or similar multidisciplinary service settings.
