Assistant School Counsellor (1-Year Contract)

Working Arrangement

• 4 days per week, 7:30am - 4:00pm (incl. 30-min lunch)

• Working days mutually agreed

• No work on weekends, gazetted public holidays, or June school holidays

Job Scope

• Provide individual and group counselling to students under supervision of the Senior School Counsellor

• Coordinate with teachers, parents, and external agencies (e.g. FSCs, MSF, ComLink, VWOs)

• Support crisis intervention, follow-up, and student referrals when required

• Maintain proper case records and documentation

• Assist in school-wide counselling programmes, staff consultation, and student wellness initiatives

• Participate in home visits and collaborative interventions when needed

Requirements

• Minimum Diploma or equivalent in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling (SAC-recognised), or related field

• Familiarity with counselling approaches for children aged 7-12 (e.g. CBT, Play Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused, Person-Centred, Mindfulness, etc.)
