Assistant Project Manager
Job Summary
The Assistant Project Manager supports project execution by coordinating schedules, managing orders, optimizing resources, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The role liaises with internal teams, suppliers, and clients to maintain efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Coordination & Scheduling
- Assist in planning and maintaining project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones.
- Track project progress and update management on potential delays or risks.
- Coordinate internal resources (operations, procurement, logistics, manpower) to maximize efficiency.
- Maintain documentation related to project timelines, changes, and approvals.
Resource Optimization & Budget Management
- Allocate manpower, materials, and equipment efficiently across project tasks.
- Identify opportunities to reduce waste, avoid duplication, and improve resource utilization.
- Monitor project budgets, control costs, and take corrective action to ensure projects meet budget targets.
- Provide regular reports on resource usage, expenditures, and budget adherence.
Order Management & Coordination
- Coordinate orders with suppliers and vendors, ensuring correct specifications and delivery schedules.
- Monitor purchase orders, confirm delivery dates, and follow up on delays.
- Liaise with clients regarding order confirmations, delivery updates, and potential issues.
Communication & Reporting
- Serve as a point of contact between project stakeholders, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Prepare regular status reports on project progress, resource allocation, order fulfillment, and budget tracking.
- Highlight potential bottlenecks or cost overruns and propose solutions.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations.
- Support compliance with internal processes, safety regulations, and contractual requirements.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, or related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in project coordination or project management support.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with a focus on efficiency and cost control.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office experience with project management software (MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent) is a plus.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of problem-solving.
