Assistant Preschool Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Assistant Teacher to support our Playgroup class. The Assistant Teacher will work closely with the Class Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. This role plays an important part in supporting children's early learning, daily routines, and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Class Teacher in the planning and implementation of play-based learning activities

• Support children during daily routines, including arrival, meals, toileting, and rest time

• Provide care and guidance to support children's social, emotional, and behavioural development

• Ensure a safe, clean, and hygienic classroom environment at all times

• Observe and support individual children's needs and learning progress

• Work collaboratively with the teaching team to support smooth classroom operations

• Follow centre policies, procedures, and health and safety guidelines

Requirements:

• ECDA-recognised early childhood qualification (ACEY, HCIC, or equivalent), or currently pursuing

• Experience working with young children, preferably in a Playgroup or preschool setting

• Caring, patient, responsible and nurturing disposition

• Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively

• Strong sense of responsibility towards children's safety and well-being
