ASSISTANT MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Job Description

1. Equipment Operation & Maintenance

• Assist in maintaining TBM machines, compressors, pumps, and generators

• Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance

• Support troubleshooting and repair of mechanical faults

2. Site Support (Underground)

• Ensure all machinery is working safely and efficiently in tunnel

• Monitor equipment performance and report issues

• Support mechanical works during excavation and tunnelling

3. Safety & Compliance

• Follow WSH (Workplace Safety & Health) regulations

• Ensure all mechanical works comply with safety procedures

• Assist in risk assessment and safe work practices

4. Documentation & Reporting

• Record maintenance logs and equipment status

• Prepare basic reports on breakdowns and repairs

• Update checklists and inspection records

5. Coordination

• Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and technicians

• Coordinate with vendors for repair or spare parts

• Assist in project planning for mechanical works

Requirement

• Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering

• Experience in construction tunnelling

• Basic knowledge of TBM, hydraulics, and machinery systems

• Willing to work 6 days / shift work (including night shift) / Sat or Sun

• Good teamwork and problem-solving skills
