Job Description

The CN Yang Scholars Programme is an NTU Signature Programme that integrates science, engineering, and research through a rigorous and flexible curriculum. It emphasizes hands-on research, global exposure, and close mentorship, equipping students with the skills to tackle complex real-world challenges. The programme aims to nurture future leaders and innovators by fostering intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and a strong commitment to scientific excellence.

The Assistant Manager is responsible for the student administration and operations of the programme. The new hire will manage several portfolios which include admissions, communications, outreach activities, student conferences, events and support for CN Yang Scholars club. The incumbent will work closely with faculty, students, alumni, university departments and external stakeholders to ensure high-quality programme administration and an outstanding student experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Student Admissions and Event Management

  • Arrange scholarship interviews and inform the shortlisted students.

  • Attend to admission-related enquiries from the students.

  • Plan and manage programme-related events, including welcome ceremony, tea sessions, networking events and admissions events.

  • Coordinate logistics, venue bookings and travel arrangements.

Outreach Activities and Communications

  • Coordinate outreach activities to attract prospective students.

  • Develop marketing brochures and banners.

  • Maintain and regularly update the programme website to ensure information is accurate, current and engaging.

  • Support social media and digital outreach initiatives to enhance programme visibility and engagement.

CN Yang Scholars Club and Alumni Engagement

  • Review the event proposals to ensure that activities are aligned with university's guidelines and conduct risk assessment.

  • Monitor and track the club expenditure to ensure proper accounting.

  • Develop and implement strategies to strengthen alumni engagement.

  • Update and maintain the alumni database.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized university.

  • Minimum 2 years of working experience, preferably in the education sector.

  • Experience in organising events and managing multiple projects simultaneously is preferred.

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, alumni, and external stakeholders.

  • Strong problem-solving, planning, and project management skills.

  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and digital tools.

  • Experience in website content management and digital communications is preferred.
