Summary of Job:
The Assistant Manager (Social Media & Communications) leads Make-A-Wish Singapore's social media strategy, digital storytelling, and content production to strengthen brand visibility, deepen audience engagement, and drive fundraising outcomes. This role requires strong creative judgment, platform fluency, and the ability to translate organisational priorities into compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.
1. Key Responsibility Areas
Social Media Strategy & Content Development
- Develop and execute a cohesive social media strategy across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube) to grow reach, engagement, and conversion.
- Produce high-quality, on-brand content including copy, visuals, short-form videos, reels, and stories.
- Craft strong, emotionally resonant storytelling, particularly around wish journeys, donor impact, volunteers, and campaigns.
- Manage a consistent content calendar aligned with organisational priorities and timelines.
Strengthen Brand Narrative & Storytelling
- Shape and maintain a clear narrative voice that reflects Make-A-Wish Singapore's mission and values.
- Oversee end-to-end storytelling for wishes, events, and campaigns, from interviews and scripting to editing and publishing.
- Work cross-functionally with other departments to surface stories responsibly and sensitively.
Support Wider Communications & Fundraising Efforts
- Support integrated campaigns, press materials, fundraising collateral, and donor communications.
- Assist in developing digital engagement strategies to increase sign-ups, donations, and volunteer interest.
- Provide on-site support for key events, including live coverage and content capture.
- Oversee the training, coordination, and deployment of Communications volunteers.
Monitor Performance & Optimise for Growth
- Track and analyse performance metrics, including reach, click-through, conversions, sentiment, and audience insights.
- Use data to continually refine content, platform mix, and posting strategies.
- Produce monthly dashboards and insights for internal teams and committees.
Manage Digital Assets & Creative Production
- Oversee visual standards, brand consistency, and content quality across all digital channels.
- Coordinate photography/videography needs for wishes, events, and campaigns.
- Design creatives (posters, graphics, EDM visuals) as required.
Governance & Administration
- Maintain organised digital asset libraries, content documentation, and approvals.
- Ensure all communication materials follow branding, privacy, and child-safeguarding guidelines.
- Manage vendor relationships (photographers, agencies, editors) where needed.
2. Experience
- Minimum two to three years of experience in social media management & design
- Proven track record in developing and executing social media strategies across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Hands-on experience with analytics tools (e.g., Meta Insights, Google Analytics) and data-driven optimization.
- Prior exposure to photography/videography, basic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite), or creative direction is an advantage.
- Experience working in a non-profit, social impact, or community-focused organisation is a bonus but not required.
3. Qualifications:
- Degree holder in any related discipline.

- Adaptability and creativity, with the ability to respond to fast-moving trends or real-time opportunities.
5. Other Details
Official Working hours:
8:30am - 5:30pm / 9:00am - 6:00pm
Candidate may be required to work on weekends for events that fall outside weekdays. Off-in-lieu will be provided.
