Job Summary
This role supports the Project Costing function in managing project budgets, cost control, and procurement processes for renovation and development projects. The incumbent will work closely with stakeholders to ensure accurate cost reporting, compliance with procurement guidelines, and effective financial oversight throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in coordinating with stakeholders in the formulation of development budgets for renovation projects, including cost benchmarking.
- Support the preparation of monthly project cost reports to update Management on expenditure-to-date and provide regular updates on project cash flow projections.
- Review tender and procurement processes for consultancy, construction, and renovation works, ensuring services are evaluated and procured in a fair and transparent manner. Propose value engineering initiatives where necessary to optimise costs.
- Verify payment approvals and administer system entries in the ERP system.
- Assess and review post-contract variation works, monitor budgets, and support the closure of final accounts.
- Coordinate with Finance stakeholders on payment matters, asset capitalisation, and tax matters.
- Support the development and implementation of a new ERP system for the Project Costing team, including system integration.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors on audit matters and provide recommendations where applicable.
Qualification
- Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- Approximately 5 years of relevant experience in construction project tendering/awards, contract administration, and cost estimation.
Skills
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Meticulous, proactive, and able to work independently as well as in a team within a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with ERP systems is an added advantage.
