Job Purpose
To oversee and manage Cragar's daily production operations, ensuring output targets, quality standards, and process efficiency are achieved. This role involves supervising operators, setters, and CNC programmers, maintaining in-process quality control, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Management
- Plan, organize, and monitor production schedules to meet delivery timelines and customer requirements.
- Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machines, and materials to achieve production targets.
- Coordinate with planning and engineering teams for smooth workflow and resource allocation.
2. Quality Assurance
- Implement and enforce in-process quality control measures to maintain product standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits on production lines to identify and resolve quality issues promptly.
- Collaborate with QA team to address non-conformance and implement corrective actions.
3. Team Leadership
- Supervise and manage a team of operators, setters, and CNC programmers, ensuring adherence to SOPs and safety guidelines.
- Provide training and coaching to enhance technical skills and productivity.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
4. Process Optimization
- Drive Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance throughput and reduce downtime.
5. Equipment & Maintenance
- Monitor machine performance and coordinate preventive maintenance to minimize breakdowns.
- Work closely with maintenance team to ensure timely repairs and upkeep of CNC machines and related equipment.
6. Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and company policies.
- Promote a safe working environment through regular safety audits and employee engagement.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in precision engineering or production management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, tooling, and programming.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
