Assistant Manager, Procurement - Corp/FT (Land Systems)

You will be part of procurement team supporting & meet project requirements. Candidate shall directly report to Project SCM Manager and Matrix to Head Procurement.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with requestors to establish a well-defined scope for effective and efficient sourcing. 
• Source from qualified and reliable source to meet requirements and specifications
• Add value in early design and testing phases (prototype) by recommending alternative components and (alternative) suppliers. 
• Expand approved supplier base and confidently engages supplier to negotiate for the best deal for the company
• Perform supply chain cost analysis and implement cost efficient and effective purchasing strategies
• Establish pricing for tenders and support production activities
• Good understanding of contractual T&C and establish contracts with key suppliers
• Understand procedures (including regulatory requirements) and adopt practices conforming to policies
• Work closely with the planner and implement engineering changes whilst ensuring on-time deliveries of part with the right quality at the right time. Includes supporting on warranty claims.
• Management of Purchase Requisition / Purchase Order as well as purchase forecast to suppliers inclusive of rescheduling to meet changes in demand
• Exercise good vendor management and monitor performance of suppliers to meet objectives in the area of quality, inventory control and actively engages suppliers with regard to quality and production feedbacks (supplier evaluation and supplier development)

Requirements

• Engineering Degree in Mechanical related field of study with two or more years of relevant experience / Engineering Diploma with more than five years of experience in sourcing & negotiating 
• Diploma in technical field with up to 8 years experience or Degree in technical field with up to 5 years experience will be a plus.
• A team player who enjoys a teamwork environment and is able to communicate with individuals at all levels/positions
• Independent, self-motivated, result oriented with ability to work under pressure and willing to work beyond normal call of duty
• ERP(SAP) knowledge with a keen interest in automotive platforms will be an advantage
