The Research Centre for Residue and Toxic Industrial Waste Management (TREASURES) at NTU is seeking a dynamic, highly organized, and resourceful Assistant Manager, Partnerships & Engagement to join the team.
This position plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between cutting-edge academic research and real-world industrial application. As the Assistant Manager, you will have the exciting opportunity to drive strategic corporate partnerships, manage high-impact engagement events, coordinate collaborative grant funding initiatives, and shape the digital public face of the centre. Key Responsibilities:
Event & Workshop Management: Spearhead the end-to-end planning and execution of industrial engagement events, including large-scale workshops, seminars, and targeted industry visits.
Digital Communications: Manage, maintain, and continuously update the research centre's website, ensuring that news, upcoming events, and key research milestones are communicated effectively to an external audience.
Stakeholder & Grant Coordination: Act as the primary administrative liaison for industrial partners and corporate stakeholders. Liaise with external Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) and industrial partners on grant funding-related matters to facilitate joint research collaborations.
Secretariat & Administrative Support: Provide vital day-to-day support for industry-focused meetings and advisory boards, including minute-taking, data gathering, and the preparation of management reports and presentation slides.
Information Management: Handle confidential and sensitive industrial data or collaboration agreements with the highest level of discretion.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution in Business, Communications, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), or a related discipline.
At least 3 to 4 years of relevant work experience in event management, corporate communications, or industrial liaison roles, ideally within a fast-paced or complex organization.
Experience working within an Institute of Higher Learning (IHL) or a research institute is highly advantageous.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with a proven track record of managing logistics for diverse audiences.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, specifically the ability to translate complex research or technical concepts into accessible language for industrial partners.
Proficiency in website content management and Microsoft Office applications.
A proactive, resourceful, and adaptable approach to work, with strong interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with academics and corporate executives.
Relevant work experience in Building and Environment Sector is preferred.
