Assistant Manager (MRO)

Role Overview

The MRO Support Manager oversees technical support, engineering, and maintenance activities within the Part 145 MRO facility. The role ensures component repair, testing, and capability development are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with airworthiness regulations, OEM standards, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for inspection, repair, and testing of aerospace components and equipment.

  • Lead engineering teams in developing new repair capabilities and preparing technical documentation such as repair procedures, work instructions, and process specifications.

  • Manage maintenance activities to improve equipment reliability and minimize downtime.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to drive operational improvements and support business objectives.

  • Liaise with OEMs and external partners on technical matters, development projects, approvals, and audits.

  • Coordinate with design authorities (OEM/DER/DOA) on non-standard repairs and deviations.

  • Manage innovation and capability development projects, including investment in new repair processes, component types, or test equipment.

  • Train and mentor engineers on technical and regulatory requirements.

Key Deliverables

  • Approval of repair/test procedures and engineering orders.

  • Successful execution of capability development projects within timeline and budget.

  • Compliance with regulatory and audit requirements.

  • Reliable operation of critical MRO equipment.

Requirements

  • Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.

  • At least 7 years of experience in aviation engineering or repair environments.

  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience.

  • Knowledge of airworthiness regulations (FAA, EASA, CAAS, CAAC) and Part 145 requirements.

  • Strong understanding of technical documentation such as CMMs, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and system schematics.

  • Familiarity with ERP/SAP, MS Office, and data tools such as Power BI.

  • Knowledge of quality systems and maintenance processes.
