Job Description

Assistant Manager, Marketing & Admissions
The Songwriter Music College Pte. Ltd.
FM Pop Music School Pte. Ltd.

About Us

Funkie Monkies Ventures is the education arm of Funkie Monkies Music, one of Singapore's established music companies, with businesses spanning music publishing, production, artist management and distribution. We operate two music education institutions -- The Songwriter Music College (PEI Diploma and Degree-pathway programmes) and FM Pop Music School (Music Enrichment and Short Courses).

The Role

You run marketing and admissions across both schools.

This is not a maintenance role -- you will inherit working campaign infrastructure and an existing pipeline, and you are expected to improve on both. You will report to the General Manager, work directly with founders and academic staff, and be given real latitude over how you hit your numbers.

We are a small team. You will set the plan, execute a good deal of it yourself, and have a clear growth pathway towards building out the team.

Remuneration: Base ($3.5-$4.5K) + Commission

What You Own

  • The marketing budget and return on it - across Meta, Google and any other channel
  • Channel mix, campaign strategy and creative direction across both institutions
  • Cost per lead, lead volume and lead quality, reported and managed monthly
  • The marketing calendar worked backwards from intake deadlines
  • Lead-to-enrolment conversion (End-to-end)
  • Direct course consultation and enquiry handling, including response-time discipline
  • Host open houses, trials, showcases and recruitment events
  • CRM hygiene, nurture sequences, and knowing why every lost lead was lost
  • Positioning and messaging across identified and distinct audiences
  • Branding, content output, and social management, including direct production of assets
  • Designing and copywriting of English and Mandarin collaterals
  • All marketing collateral and public-facing course information
  • Complies with SWDA/PE advertising and disclosure requirements
  • Marketing evidence is maintained to EduTrust and ERF standards

By month 6: you have taken over at least the logistics of all campaigns, rebuilt what isn't working, and can explain unit economics per programme. By month 12: cost per enrolment is down, conversion is up, and you are planning enrolment pipelines in advance with confidence.

Requirements

  • At least 3+ years in marketing and/or sales, with experience running campaign(s)
  • Demonstrable performance marketing knowledge (Meta Ads Google Ads)
  • Comfortable with funnel metrics, attribution and CPL/CPA analysis
  • Hands-on production ability: Canva or Adobe, video editing for short-form social, visual judgement
  • Full working fluency in English and Mandarin, including written Mandarin for marketing copy and communication with Mandarin-speaking students
  • CRM/marketing automation experience (we currently use ActiveCampaign)
  • Organised, self-directed, and able to hold a plan together across two entities with different cycles
  • Degree preferred but track record matters more

Advantageous

  • Experience in private education, particularly PEIs
  • Familiarity with international curricula (Cambridge, IB) or the international school admissions market
  • Music industry background or genuine familiarity with music education
  • Experience marketing to China-based or Mandarin-speaking overseas families
